Our Recreation Department offers a wide variety of individual and team sports, as well as instructional classes for children, youth mental, emotional and social development in a competitive setting. Good sportsmanship and safety are always emphasized!

All Sports League
Instructor: Sports and Rec Coordinator Grades: Preschool / K-5 8-week session
In this instructional league, participants will learn the basics of many sports, such as Soccer, Basketball, Dodgeball, and more. They will take part in age-appropriate activities such basic skills, movements, agility. Throughout this program, they will also learn sportsmanship and basic rules of each game.

Gymnastics( enrichment)
Instructor: CORE Gymnastics Preschool 8-week session
In this class, children will be introduced to the joy of body movement and awareness through gymnastics, fitness exercises, and educational motor development games. Children will develop flexibility, strength, coordination, and balance.

Girls on the Run
Instructor: Girls on the Run Grades: 3-5 8-week session
Girls on the Run encourages girls of all abilities to recognize their individual strengths and celebrate connections with others. Our tested curriculum blends physical activity with skill development that enables girls to adapt to whatever comes their way. In today’ s unpredictable world, the strategies learned at Girls on Run are more important than ever.

Seeking Youth Athletes for JCC Maccabi Games ®!
JCC Maccabi was created to provide Jewish youth, ages 13-16 years old, with a supportive environment that fosters mutual respect and sportsmanship, where they can interact in an atmosphere of fun, democracy, and peace. Participants cultivate a deeper understanding and instill an appreciation of Jewish values within Jewish youth, enrich their Jewish identity in an informal setting, and encourage their identification with the state of Israel.
The JCC Maccabi Games ® is the largest Jewish youth event in the world. From July 31 – August 5, 2022, the Lawrence Family JCC in San Diego will welcome visiting Jewish teens from across the globe. The JCC Maccabi Games ® promotes and encourages the health, physical fitness and wellbeing of Jewish youth through participation in recreational and athletic activities. The activities for this year’ s games are: Basketball, Dance, Soccer, and Swimming!
Participants will learn the values of teamwork, integrity, cultural pride and community service while expanding an appreciation of Jewish values, connection to the community, enriching their Jewish identities, improving their overall health and well-being and building lifelong friendships.
