Community Drumming Shabbat & Dinner

Science tells us that when a group of people drum together , their heart beats actually synchronize , their heart rates and blood pressure go down and they feel more connected to themselves and to each other . It ’ s time to connect again and renew our sense of belonging ! Join us for a casual and festive interfaith community dinner to welcome Shabbat and experience an interactive drumming circle with Pathways to Rhythm . Open to all . This event will be held outside , weather permitting .

Global Day of Jewish Learning
Sunday , November 7 , 12-4pm
Launched in 2010 as an effort to connect Jews around the world in mutual appreciation of Jewish wisdom , Global Day will bring together hundreds of communities , large and small , for one day of intercontinental Jewish learning , powered by Limmud . Weinstein JCC , in partnership with Jewish educators and rabbis in the Richmond community , is proud to participate , once again , in Global Day , whose theme for 2021 is The Bonds Between Us .

Community Menorah Lightings
November 29 - December 2 at 5:30 pm
The Weinstein JCC will host its annual menorah lightings on select evenings during Chanukah . The community is invited to participate in reciting the prayer and singing holiday songs . Refreshments will be served . Festivities begin promptly at 5:00pm in front of the community menorah located on the Neil November Plaza . All are welcome !

BBYO • Grades : 8 – 12 BBYO is the world ’ s leading pluralistic Jewish youth movement . BBYO is teen-led and modeled as a high school fraternity and sorority , including two movements : Aleph Zadik Aleph ( AZA ) for boys and B ’ nai Brith Girls ( BBG ), for girls . Richmond BBYO has two chapters , an AZA chapter ( Monarchs AZA ) and a BBG chapter ( Dr . Abraham Cohen BBG ). Richmond BBYO is a part of Eastern Region which includes the communities of the Peninsula and Tidewater in Virginia and all of North Carolina . BBYO members participate in varied programs including social , education , recreational activities , community service and Israel programs .
