Javea
starts a
process
for
Refugees
Jávea Town Hall has opened a
registration process which lists the
available homes able to receive
refugees. Owners who want to offer
their properties can do so through
Social Services. The Department of
Social Services is making an inventory of all resources available to the
municipality to collaborate usefully
and effectively with the plight of refugees fleeing conflicts such as Syria.
As explained by the Councillor Pepa
Gisbert, we are awaiting guidelines
from the European Union and the
Spanish Government, following the
indications that Spain will be accepting refugees. Gisbert has recognised
that in housing, the City does not
have resources like flats or hostels
so it appeals to citizen participatiom
and is looking for households where
individuals want to host registered
refugees.
Those willing to collaborate must
contact the Amics office of Javea,
located in the Social Centre, where
they will given a form to complete
detailing the tupe of housing offered
and the time in which they can be
assigned.
