In three months, 1,557 taxpayers have signed on to the
new personalised payment
schemes with Jávea Town
Hall.

This system helps to give
liquidity to the municipal
coffers throughout the year
Jávea’s Finance Councillor,
Oscar
Anton, presented
the details of the payment
plan that the Town Hall has
offered to taxpayers, to make
it easier for us to organise
our tax payments to best suit
our situations.
This scheme could be used
either to pre-pay all fees at
the beginning of this year, so
obtaining a bonus of 4%, or
to plan payments in instalments throughout the year.
The payment periods were
opened in late December
and up until the 5th March
a total of 1,557 plans have
been subscribed.
Of these, most are the
pre-payment format, so the
council has already collected
1,136,634 euros in the first
quarter.
More than 400 instalment
schemes have been set up
by the treasury department,
which expects to receive
more than 300,000 euros
throughout the year.
The pre-payment scheme
for municipal taxes, and the
corresponding benefit of the
bonus, is still open, those
interested are encouraged to
visit the treasury department
for information.
Anton pointed out that the
good reaction to this new
system, breaks up the rigid
fiscal calendar, allowing the
Town Hall to collect money
throughout the year.
Especially noticeable during the first few weeks of the
year, sufficient liquidity was
achieved by the Treasury
to avoid having to resort to
loans.
The Councillor explained that
the municipal coffers consequently benefitted from not
having to pay interest and
accordingly to obtain savings that enables them to offer bonuses to early payers,
The Councillor took this
opportunity to thank the staff
of the Treasury department
and the Citizens Advice
Bureau (Help desk -OAC) for
the great work done during
the first weeks of the year to
meet this high demand for
customised payment plans.
