Javea Grapevine Issue 173 - 2015 | Page 55

Jávea Grapevine No.173 2015| The only difference is that you have to boot off of the discs rather than a recovery partition. Well, that is all for now. On our next post we will see two more methods to successfully achieve this task. Some manufacturers also include utilities that allow you to burn your own recovery discs, offering you another location for the recovery data.  Please find our contact details on our advert in this edition; in case you have any questions or queries, we can assure a quick and professional reply. Or you could delete the recovery partition so you can use more of your hard drive for your stuff. Recovery partitions tend to be around 20GB, so you’re gaining quite a bit of extra space. If these queries are of general benefit, we will post the reply on further editions of the Grapevine so they can be for everybody’s benefit. Back to work till the next post! Until then, keep clicking!! Note that by deleting the recovery partition, you won’t be able to use the “boot by pressing an F key” method of starting the recovery; you’ll be forced to use the discs that you burned yourself from then on. So be careful not to scratch them and make sure they’re kept safely somewhere you can remember where to locate them if needed in the future!
