The general director of Tourism of the Valencian Community , Herick Campos , and the director of the Invat-tur , Francisco Juan , have met with the mayor of Xàbia , José Chulvi and the councilor of Tourism , Toni Miragall , to analyse the impact of the actions being launched to support the tourism sector as a result of the health crisis . Campos acknowledged the work done by Xàbia to be a safe destination and thanked the measures taken by both the City Council and local companies to give the best guarantees to visitors in a very positive summer season despite the circumstances .
The domestic market has offset the fall of the international . The mayor also wanted to acknowledge the support provided by the Valencian Tourism Agency , both in the recovery of beaches after the storm Gloria and in resources to improve accessibility to the beaches and the necessary control of capacity . Public officials have spoken of the uncertainty surrounding the sector and deepened the injection involved in plans such as the Travel Voucher promoted by the Generalitat , a good 70 % discount to travel through the three provinces that has generated a waiting list of 15,000 applications .
In Xàbia , the Department of Tourism has organised meetings with the sector to inform them about this program and how they could register . Finally , 11 companies have joined this offer and some are already receiving the increase in reserves channeled by this program .
