The Living Library will open its
doors on the morning of Saturday,
May 19, on Avenida Jaume I, from
11:30 a.m. and until 2:00 p.m.
That same morning there will be
more awareness activities such as a
“Real Pursuit” Game of international
cooperation and other activities
organized by the Red Cross (12
hours) and the storyteller “El Bosque
Encantao” (12:30 hours).
Other activities
The program that commemorates in
Xàbia that May 21 is the World Day
of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue
and Development starts on Monday
the 14th with the opening of a book
corner on Interculturality in the
Duanes de Mar Library (all the week).
In addition, the film “A trip of ten
meters” will be screened to the students
of the IES within the immigration
and film cycle On Thursday, May 17,
at 6:30 pm, the talk “Asilo, refuge and
international protection “, Red Cross
The activities are organised by the
Office of Assistance to Migrated
Persons (PANGEA) of Xàbia,
subsidized by the Ministry of Equality
and Inclusive Policies, and Red
Cross Local Assembly Xàbia. Also
collaborating are the Diputación de
Alicante and the Municipal Public
Library.
Remember that the City of Xàbia has
a service throughout the year to serve
ur immigrant population, ensure
their normal access to public services
and work for their social inclusion.
Other actvities include literacy
courses (Spanish and Valencian), host
schools, preparation of nationality
exams, information and general
advice and awareness-raising actions
to promote equal treatment, non-
discrimination.
