To discuss the compatibility
between
tourism
and
sustainability, I was fortunate
to be able to participate in an
important forum held on the
island of Formentera entitled
‘Save Posidonia Project’.
As you may know, Posidonia
relates to and is responsible
for the excellent quality of our
seawater, some of the oxygen we
breathe, marine biodiversity, the
absorption of CO2 and the slowing
of the effects of climate change...
even if, we are contributing to its
destruction.
The thousands of boats that
anchor in our coves in summer and
off our beaches, when dropping
their anchors, sometimes destroy
in minutes, what it can take
centuries for nature to produce.
And if we do not do something
soon we will lose everything.
