On the economic front, I am pleased
to share good news with you all.
The Department of Finance, headed
by Toni Miragall has been able to
bring forward the payment of 3.2
million euros of loans to the banks.
With this decision, the residents of
Xàbia will save 1 million euros in
interest and this money will be used
to invest in our town.
There is also an issue that I cannot
omit mentioning in this issue of the
Grapevine.
Some weeks ago there was a rumour
that the Xàbia would reduce the
number of dogs that are housed in the
pound and make the work of Apasa
more difficult.
It was even suggested that dogs would
be destroyed. Nothing is further from
the truth!
The Town Council
is
already working with
Apasa on the design and
management
of
new
facilities located at Els
Ramblars.
These facilities will be
better equipped than at
present, will not generate
nuisance for local residents
and, of course, will provide
the accommodation the
animals need, as before,
without having to resort to
putting down dogs.
