FOUR Blue Flags
- The beaches of La Grava, La Granadella and Arenal, as well
as the Yacht Club get awards. Xàbia retains its coastal allure thanks to the four blue flags
awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education.
The beaches of La Grava, Arenal and Granadella and the Yacht Club have been awarded the
international badge that recognises the high water quality and the excellence of the services
provided to users.
For his part, Mayor of Javea, José Chulvi, particularly appreciated the award of the four
blue flags at the start of the tourist season, pointing that “they are the only four points along
25 kilometres of coastline in the Valencian coast. Any of our beaches and coves meet the
necessary conditions to make them unforgettable” The mayor observed that while good
coastal maintenance is a municipal responsibility, it is also the responsibility of all users,
residents and the visitors who enjoy them. If we want to maintain the good image of Javea
as a tourist destination and as a place to live we all have to have to commit ourselves to
caring for the environment.”
