CF is a disease that makes the mucus
throughout the entire body
extremely thick, which blocks and
disables many other body functions.
Brandon does not absorb food
properly. The medical forecast is
that Brandon will be sterile, that he
will continue to get lung infections,
which will become progressively
worse – that he will require more
and more medicines, and eventually
the antibiotics will change from pill
to IV, and he will have many hospital
stays. His estimated life span is
much shorter with CF.
It’s so much to bear. I’m not even
sure we’ve completely accepted it.
There’s always an ache inside riding
