He appeared to be equally smitten
and several moments passed before
they reluctantly stopped staring at
each other.
When she looked around, Martha
had disappeared.
“Hello, I’m . . . David.” He stuttered.
“I’m Dani . . . I brought your god
mother, Martha.” She managed to
say while taking a wobbly step
backward.
David gave her a puzzled look. “I
don’t have a god mother …”
Dani threw out descriptions.
“Elderly woman, small frame,
dresses like she’s of old money . . .
sweet smile?”
Suddenly dizzy, she grabbed for a
nearby table.
David reached, catching her by the
arm in attempt to steady her. “Are
you alright?” …
Dani looked into his gorgeous eyes.
“Do you believe in angels?”
David smiled and the fireworks
exploded again.
