RAISED BACK TO LIFE
The doctors were not sure that the potassium level was low enough to cause my collapse and subsequent death . The on-call cardiologist examined me , and said , “ Well you ’ re on your second life !”
To this day , they say we may never know what really happened or why I survived . I at least know why I survived ; the supernatural power of God ! There ' s no other explanation ...
I do not recall anything during the time I was gone . When I “ woke up ”, apart from my confusion regarding what happened , I felt only a deep peace , like what one feels after waking up from a very deep sleep … My life changed unexpectedly in many ways that evening , and there are many striking things about all of this , but one thought stands out to share . It comes from a well-known verse of scripture - Jeremiah 29:11 , " For I know the plans I have for you ," says the Lord . " They are plans for good and not for disaster , to give you a future and a hope ."
Many know that scripture , and we think of it when we need reassurance and encouragement . We think of it when we ' re wondering if God still has a plan for us . It ' s a scripture that brings hope when we ' re in deep places , and bolsters our convictions when we ' re unsure of what lies ahead on our path .
This is the " go to ," scripture when we face illness , financial pressure , seemingly unbearable workplace conditions , marital woes , and it ' s the one we pull out of our arsenal to encourage others with when there is nothing else to be said . It ' s a scripture that has sustaining power when we ' re trying to " hold on ."
