SUBSCRIPTIONS/MEMBERSHIPS
Monthly subscriptions are becoming
popular with the online world
growing more and more each day.
They have subscriptions for just
about anything nowadays such as
home cooked meals, clothes, shoes,
makeup, TV channels, music, and a
whole lot more. I understand some
of these subscriptions are
convenient, but too many can be
subscription overload.
Write down all the places you’re
subscribed to and paying for and
prioritize them. You may find that
you don’t need a couple of these
subscriptions. They may be only $5-
$20 monthly, but just five of these
subscriptions can easily bring you up
to $25-$100 monthly for things you
may not even use.
We try to stick to 2-3 subscriptions
monthly. Right now, we only have
Netflix and Hulu (about $20/month
total), but I’ve known people to rack
up on subscriptions and not ever use
any of them. Don’t waste your
money; unsubscribe and become
richer.
DISCOUNTS Make sure you aren’t
giving away your money. You may be
eligible for a discount with some
companies. Some places that may
offer you a discount are your electric
company, phone service, or your
apartment complex. With discounts
you just have to ask. I always ask and
it’s wonderful when they actually
say, “Yes! We offer several discounts
here.” If you don’t ask then they
won’t tell. I’ve had people give me a
discount just because I asked.
NO SPEND CHALLENGES Sometimes
we don’t think we have money
because we’re spending it 24/7.
Chilling out on spending, and going a
few days, weeks, or even a month
can help you to gain momentum
back on your finances. I’ve done this
several times, and I always am ever
so grateful afterwards.
Actually, I’m on a no spend challenge
for the month right now and didn’t
realize
I understand some of these subscriptions are convenient,
but too many can be subscription overload.
