are some of the most beautiful in the
world.
If you're up for an underground
adventure, stop by Cathedral
Caverns. It is known for one of the
world's largest stalagmites. You will
be in awe of the massive flow stone
walls, frozen waterfalls, and
stalagmite forests that you will
encounter on your approximate four
thousand foot trek into the
underworld.
If you prefer to stay above ground,
check out the U.S. Space and Rocket
Center in beautiful Huntsville,
Alabama. Get up close to the
SaturnV rocket and be amazed by the
orbiter Pathfinder. You can browse

the exhibits in the exhibit hall and
learn interesting facts about our
nation’s space program. There are
also rides, tours, and an Imax movie
theater for you to enjoy. Last, but
certainly not least . . . The U.S. Space
and Rocket Center is proud to be
home to the nation’s prestigious
Space Camp!
Maybe visiting one of Alabama's
beautiful white sand beaches is
something you would fancy.
There you can relax and watch the
surf lap at the shoreline, be thrilled
by the playful dolphins just off shore,
or start (or add to) your own
collection of seashells. You can also
kick it up a notch and enjoy such
activities as, parasailing, scuba diving,
or some of the nation’s best deep-
sea fishing.
You might even want to “walk on the
wild side” and visit the Birmingham
Zoo. Or, go antiquing in one our
picturesque towns, such as Mentone,
on Lookout Mountain. Maybe you
would like to experience true
southern pride and take in a college
football game down in T-town
(Tuscaloosa) or on the plains of
Auburn. You might decide to
immerse yourself in Alabama’s rich
southern heritage and join in on the
many festivals held throughout the
state each year.
Whatever ever your interests are,
whether it is camping in the
mountains or splashing around in the
surf, you will find something that you
will love. So, come on down and find
out for yourselves why the folks here
in this great state like to say, “There’s
no place better than ‘Sweet Home
Alabama’!”
