Sendai, the capital of Miyagi
prefecture, has a population
of 1.08 million and is located
in Japan’s Tohoku (northeast)
Region, 350 km north from Tokyo
on the side of the Pacific Ocean.
Although Sendai is now often
associated with the March 11
disaster, this city has put in a lot
of effort to change this image.
仙台市は宮城県の県庁所在地で人口
は108万人、東北地方に位置する。太
平洋に面しており東京からの距離は
350キロメートルだ。
仙台といえば、2011年3月11日の東日
本大震災のことを今でも思い出すこと
が多いのだが、市はこのイメージを変
えるために懸命に取り組んでいる。
