E
thiopian Airlines, as a national flag-
carrier, deeply cares about benefiting
its home country by promoting

social
responsibility
initiatives in education, health,
sports, art, environment, and wild life
initiatives, and has contributed to the booming
Ethiopian tourism industry.
It is not just at home that Ethiopian promotes
tourism; its network extends to the major
African
tourist
destinations
including
Tanzania, Durban, and The Seychelles. Within
Ethiopia, the airline flies to Gondar for the
Timket Epiphany Festival and the beautiful
rock churches at Lalibela. For nature lovers,
Ethiopian flies to the Simien Mountains, where
the rare Ethiopian wolf and fox can be spotted.
We celebrated our one year service to Japan on
April 22, 2016 which is the only direct service
between Africa and Japan.
Ethiopian has a history of technological
advancement. The Airline has a young fleet
with an average age of 5 years. Better-designed
aircraft are more fuel efficient, quieter, and
comfortable.
The airline hailed in the jet-age on the continent
with the Boeing 720B in 1962 and was the first
airline in the world to use the Boeing 767-200
ER in 1984. The 767 flew from Washington
D.C. to Addis Ababa in a record 13 hours and
17 minutes. After a series of African firsts, like
the B777LR, Ethiopian was also the first Airline
on the continent and the second in the world
outside of Japan to receive the 787 Dreamliner,
unsurpassed in its efficiency & comfort. Now
Ethiopian is ready to welcome the first A350
aircraft as part of its fleet family by coming
June 2016 which is also expected to be the game
changer in giving more comfort and convenience
to our valued customers.
After a series of African

Good technology is nothing without competent
aviation professionals. 100 million USD has
been invested to build modern classrooms,
cabin mock-ups, an amphitheatre and a
cafeteria. Ethiopian Airlines runs Africa’s
