There are a number of changes that will need to occur by the December 31 , 2025 deadline in order to have a smooth transition to the new form of governance . ( We have resources to assist you . See below .) rnance
Another significant change will be the addition of four trustees to the PDA Board of Trustees . Fifth District and Tenth District will each have one additional trustee ; Second District will have two ( 2 ) additional trustees . These new trustees will take office in April 2025 at Pennsylvania ’ s Dental Meeting . In order to assure that the group structure will be maintained , the additional trustee from Fifth District will have a two-year term ; one of the new trustees from Second District will have a one-year term ; the new trustee from Tenth District will have a three-year term as will the second new trustee from Second District .
There will also be changes to the bylaws of the locals , as well as numerous financial updates , depending on whether or not the district pursues dissolution or continuation as a new entity . Financial considerations should be accomplished with the guidance of an accountant and / or attorney . Districts may consider appointing a task force to consider all of these necessary elements . Districts are strongly encouraged to seek appropriate financial and legal advice .
We want to assure you that PDA will be supporting districts and locals every step of the way when implementing these changes . A toolkit has been developed to provide guidance on matters to be considered as changes are discussed and implemented . In addition , there will be updates discussed in upcoming Leadership e-series webinars , and there is an online form for your questions that can be accessed at padental . org / GovTransition .
It is important to remember that this big change is new for EVERYONE and is not a top-down structure imposed by PDA , but rather an opportunity for reimagining your district and local in a way that works best for you .
