Be Aware of Wear : A Systematic Approach to Diagnosing , Treatment Planning , and Restoring the Worn Dentition Presented by Thomas E . Dudney , DMD
Today tooth wear is more prevalent than ever and it is therefore incumbent upon the entire dental team to be well versed in recognizing the clinical signs of wear while understanding the importance of prevention when possible and the restorative options when necessary . This lecture will illustrate the different types of tooth wear with clinical examples and demonstrate a systematic approach to diagnosis and treatment .
Upon completion of the lecture , the participant should be able to :
• Recognize the clinical signs of intrinsic and extrinsic erosion .
• Office protocols to help patients prevent and / or treat acid erosion .
• Recognize the clinical signs of horizontal and vertical wear patterns .
• Designing an occlusal scheme that fits the grinding patterns of the patient .
• Bite opening vs . crown lengthening vs . orthodontic intrusion to gain space for restorations .
• The importance of an interdisciplinary team in treating wear cases .
• A systematic approach in the treatment of simple to complex wear cases .

PDA ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING
PDA ’ s annual business meeting will be held Saturday , April 30 beginning at 1:45 p . m . with a legislative update . All PDA members in good standing are encouraged to attend virtually or in-person . In addition to the update from our lobbyists , members will have the opportunity to voice their opinion on issues affecting dentistry during the open forum and participate in the PERC Shareholder ’ s Meeting . There is no fee to attend the business meeting .

The continuing education courses and meetings will be held at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel . Reservation Deadline March 14 , 2022 — A block of rooms has been reserved at the rate of $ 129 single / double plus 11 % applicable taxes per night .

The block of rooms will be held until March 14 , 2022 , or until rooms are exhausted . After March 14 or once rooms are exhausted , whichever shall occur first , rooms will be assigned on a space available basis at the current room rate .
