Some other interesting takes from these numbers is that 100
percent of the ASDA representatives from the four dental
schools have their email on file with PDA. The districts with the
highest percentage of members voting each year was: times. In 2016 a candidate from the Second (Dr. Bruce Terry)
and the Ninth (Dr. Joe Ross) ran for president-elect. In 2017
candidates from the First (Dr. Tom Gamba) and the Second
(Dr. Linda Himmelberger) ran for ADA trustee.
(2015) Eighth District with 15%,
(2016) Ninth with 26%,
(2017) Eighth with 30% and,
(2018) Eighth once again with 24%. If you are not a numbers or statistics person I probably lost you
a few paragraphs ago, but I wanted to share this information
with our members to encourage those who haven’t sent their
email address to PDA to please do so, and just as importantly
to encourage those who haven’t voted to just do it. The election
this year will start on February 14 and close on February 28.
Please keep your eyes open for information about this year’s
election and for an email inviting you to vote; read the candidate
profiles that will be posted on www.padental.org and make
your voice heard this year. VOTE! You know a proud voter like
your editor sure will!
But when you look at the actual number of voters for those
districts it was 11, 61, 13 and 9. The district with the highest
number of members who were invited to vote who actually
voted was the Second every year with 155 (10%) in 2015,
227 (16%) in 2016, 247 (25%) in 2017 and 150 (16%) last year.
That was not a big surprise since they have most members
(1,364 in 2018). The years where there were contested races for
an office brought out the highest percentage of voters both
