Day 1
Traditionally our Halter, Ranch Riding & Reining. We also had
a new Event Three & Over Clairveaux Quarter Horses Maiden
Hunter Under Saddle our Champion here was Vital Signs
R Lopin Q-78902 ridden & owned by Emmi Hoefchen with
reserve being Shadowvalley’s Im Titanium Q-81981 for Kylie
Lepley.
Our Open Ranch Riding events were again well received with
Sara Agnew winning on her horse Lethal Hollywood Q-50439
under both Judges. The All Age Amateur Ranch Riding Karen
O’Keefe on her horse In Fancy Style Q-65677 was the winner
under both Judges also.
Day 2:
Trails took to the arena with some very fine Trail horses and
riders showing how its done. After a short break The Gold Pass
$6,000.00 3 & over Maiden Horse Western Pleasure horses
stepped into the show pen for the first time.
The Judges saw it this way RRD Ceeled With A Kiss Q-80384
was awarded Champion Sash, Buckle, Rug and a Western Horse
Annual Voucher. Natasha Humphries showed for a very excited
owner Desarae Sim. The Reserve for another excited owner
Julie Cook was Sweet Potential Q-90577 and Holly Johnson
riding receiving a very nice Graceful Couture Saddlepad.
The Summer Sizzler Select Stallion Sale 3 yearr old Western
Pleasure was another feature this year with A Ranged
Investment Q-81302 owned by Theresa Zelenak and ridden by
Kane Skope the winner.
The combination also won the Eligible Select Stallion Progeny
from breeding year 2014. A Cheque for $800.00 bonus for
owner and $300.00 for the Sire Smoochin Q-69670.
Our next Feature event on the Program was TNT Training
Stables $5,000.00 Novice Horse Western Pleasure. You just
couldn’t wipe the smile off Desarae Sim’s face with Natasha
Humphries loping out again for Champion on RRD Ceeled With
A Kiss Q-80384 receiving Sash, Buckle, Rug and a Annlee
Saddlery & Cowboy Hattery, Shorty’s Hat.
Reserve another smiley face Julie Cook’s Sweet Potential
Q-90577 with Holly Johnson aboard receiving Dr Show
products.
Last event for day two was Solitaire Performance Horses
$2,000.00 Amateur Western Pleasure Stakes. A very nice field
of Amateurs with two go rounds the final ten were in and the
judges pick was the lovely mare Man What A Diva Q-80663
and Nicole Moore loping out for Champion receiving her sash,
Buckle Rug and a beautiful Glendas Custom Designed Show
Wear Vest.
Reserve was Tracey Van Leeuwen on her big sorrel Scorchin
Q-70114 also receiving prizes.
Day 3:
The second morning of another lot of Trails with the Barastoc
$1000.00 Open Trail Stakes this had some of the best Trail
horses in Australia competing.
The Champion was the evergreen Triandibo Incede Q-58481
ridden by Trish Wettenhaul owned by a very happy Fran
Christian who took home a Buckle, Rug, and a beautiful Show
Classics Vest and Show Pad.
Reserve was Darren Sinclair on his horse DGS Rockasong with
2nd-4th taking home Equine ID Solutions Prizes.
Our Premier Event of Karagullan Cool Storage Summer Sizzler
Show’s 1st Go Round of the $15,000.00 Argent Farm Quarter
Horses NZ Western Pleasure Slot was next.
The AQHA again gave a added bonus of $1000.00 to be given
$500.00, $300 & $200.00 1st-3rd respectively.
All the owners of the entries in the Slot were introduced to the
crowd filled stand receiving a bottle of wine and a chance to win
a Harris Show Headpiece.
The winner Sally Jaggard of the Harris Headpiece was ecstatic
saying now I don’t have to buy one.
Day 4:
Saturday was a big day with lots of Features starting off with
Showmanships with one notable one our Tania Soper Memorial
Amateur Showmanship sponsored by Lois and Bill Soper. The
winner here under both Judges Liz Christian, and her horse
Triandibo Flamin Lynx Q-47904.
The $4000.00 RT Western Wear 4 & 5 year old Western
Pleasure Derby horses were next to jog into the pen, with
the judges pi ck being Pawsitively A Code Red Q-75787 as
Champion, with Kristy Mobberley riding for a very happy
Barbera Wheatcroft receiving Buckle, Rug and Chap Magnet
Voucher. Reserve was CP Sure Ta Be Lazy Q-78435 owned and
ridden by Natasha Humphries receiving prizes.
Next came the $2000.00 All Type Welding Senior Horse
Western Pleasure Stakes, and loping out for the Champion Sash
again was Man What A Diva Q-80663 with owner rider Nicole
Moore smiling broadly. Also receiving a $250.00 voucher for
Branded Dusty Lane Buckle and rug. Radical Signs R Good
Q-73596 jogged out for Reserve for owner Donna Grech and
rider Natasha Humphries 2nd-4th Natures Farmacy Vouchers.
The future of the Western Performance Industry hit the pen
next MND Accounting Open Youth Western Pleasure with a
another happy face Taj Carson on mums horse For Your Eyes
Only Q-85317, awarded Champion receiving Buckle, Rug and
Tatura Farm Supplies horse feeder. Matt Freiberg and his horse
Somejustiliketo Smooch Q-80519 was reserve.
From the Youth to the $1500.00 IRT Select Amateur Western
Pleasure Stakes, taking this event out a surprised Cassandra
Grainger, on her RQH Dixie Does It Q-72430 taking home
Buckle, Rug and a beautiful Silver Star Western Show
Headpiece. Reserve HL Somehot Potential Q-72342 and Diane
Rose.
Finally what the competitors, family and friends came to see
$15,000.00 Argent Farm Quarter Horses NZ 3 year old Western
Pleasure Slot.
The grandstand and full of anticipation to see the best three
year olds in the country. After a short warm up and drag the
pen the Judges walked in the finalists jogged into the pen.
The judges saw it this way with All Of A Sudden Q-81000, called
out Champion ridden beautifully by Natasha Humphries for
Sally Jaggard, taking home a Buckle, Rug, Deegs Metalworks
trophy and Graceful Couture Saddle pad. Reserve giving Travis
and Natasha 1st and 2nd again this year was Travis Humphries
riding Special Kinda Lazy Q-84712 for Jodi Jakubenko. Third
place went to Taj Carson on Haley Cove’s horse, For Your Eyes
Only Q-85317, and fourth to CP Wishin Hopen Lopen Q-80483,
owned by Pam and Wayne Jones ridden by Kristy Mobberley.
Congratulations to all competitors in the Slot it was a credit to
all.
Change of gear for the rest of day with the Hunter Under Saddle
Events. The Vet N Pet Direct $1000.00 Amateur Open Hunter
Under Saddle Stakes horses trotted into pen with a big field the
judges decision was Champion SRQ Its A Love Thing Q-81127
ridden by Nicole Moore and owned by Fielden Family taking
home Buckle, Rug and a Saddle Mate saddle stand. Out for
reserve Craig Rath riding his horse Charming Invitation.
Last day:
Sunday the wind was blowing a gale with dirt and dust every-
where and much cooler and Hunter Under Saddle is the order
of the day.
