devices is transforming manufacturing , driving growth , increasing safety and attracting investment . A critical factor in advancing machine vision is synthetic data , which allows us to create diverse , high-quality training sets and refine models long before they go live . Consider an autonomous forklift or other automated mobile robots in a warehouse that need to navigate around potential hazards . Instead of relying on real-life incidents — which we obviously want to avoid — we can train these systems with synthetic data that simulates various scenarios . This approach strengthens the model ’ s capabilities while keeping workers and workplaces safe . We believe advancements such as these will rapidly increase the time to value on machine vision capabilities and investments .

These days , market ups and downs are forcing beneficial cargo owners ( BCOs ) to refresh their rates with logistics providers more often — sometimes monthly or even weekly . This back and forth on tender agreements isn ’ t just eating up everyone ’ s time — it ’ s stretching procurement teams ( and their vendors ) thin . Additionally , constantly renegotiating deals can put a strain on relationships with forwarders and carriers , the very partnerships that prove so crucial when markets get rocky .
That ’ s where tech solutions help , with automated systems connecting providers and BCOs and a backbone powered by market intelligence and AI to make the tender process smoother . This lets BCOs zero in on just the routes that need updating , while forwarders and

The importance of supply chain visibility has been a hot topic since the global uncertainty brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic . Continued uncertainties with geopolitical challenges influencing trade and various service disruptions associated with extended labor negotiations make it an increasing need to have full visibility to one ’ s cargo movement . Unreliable
carriers can make targeted tweaks to prices and surcharges . Best of all , it takes the mind-numbing parts of procurement off of people ’ s plates , letting them focus on what really matters : building solid business relationships .
The change is just part of a bigger industry shake-up . Supply chains have become unfathomably large , all supported by a digital backbone . Even the sharpest minds need the right tools to wade through data , spot patterns , and make smart calls . As the industry cranks out more data and connections , we ’ ve got to put all this information to good use .
Tech can create a more flexible , collaborative space where BCOs and their partners can roll with the punches when markets shift . When the next big disruption hits — and it will — streamlined processes keep goods moving without throwing relationships under the bus . Data and tech aren ’ t magic bullets for agility ; they ’ re tools that let procurement pros focus on what they do best .

pro-forma schedules with the continuous mechanism of blank sailings , the ongoing conflict in the Red Sea and continuous challenges with rail car capacity have resulted in inconsistent transit times . This makes the need to have full visibility to container movements a necessity , not a luxury .
Over the years , customers have continued to request visibility tools to track and trace container movement from loading through to the final destination , requiring that such tools extend to the critical final mile once the container is in the hands of the drayage provider . Addressing this critical need for visibility to movement of containers has resulted in the offering of basic tracking tools . One key , yet often overlooked , metric is the status of customs brokerage updates . With continued inconsistent transit times and extended dwell times , providing customers with visibility to the customs clearance status of their shipment entries has become as equally important as updates to the cargo movement .
Regarding predictability within supply chains , it starts with a solid forecasting model to understand volume needs well in advance of when many are accustomed to . Just-in-time inventory models were unsustainable during the pandemic and continue to be challenging to properly plan for , given the infrastructure challenges and lack of reliable schedules from carriers and rail providers . As we look to possible challenges our industry faces in 2025 , it will be critical to have a forecasting model and process that is nimble and can pivot quickly .

Vertical software solutions abound in supply chain . Every node has a solution that optimizes the workflows and cargo movement within that node , but that optimization takes place in isolation from other connected nodes and modes . In 2025 , visibility has evolved to mean extending
