decarbonization while becoming more technology driven will be required by all industry stakeholders in 2025 , but particularly port operators and their port authority partners .
More specifically , forward-looking companies will seek to reinvent — enabled by sustainability and adoption of cutting-edge technologies — to create the future . This is difficult to accomplish , because if done properly , it includes all aspects of the company and touches every employee , customer and the world they operate within . Simply put , sustainability and technology fit hand in glove as mutually enabling elements often coming together in a way not previously envisioned at the outset . It ’ s a process that takes not only innovation but commitment from everyone .
Thirdly , ports and terminal operators will need to find ways to bring new value to customers and partners . This must be accomplished on the back of investment in new process initiatives
driving equipment innovation , new technologies and sustainability , all with an eye to customer expansion .
LOGISTEC is on this path , and while we see challenges , we will lead this reinvention in 2025 .
We are executing our plan in the geographies we serve today while preparing for the future .
Global trade patterns continue to shift due to geopolitical tensions , impacting transit routes and costs . Climate change , including sea level fluctuations in the Panama Canal and recent hurricane seasons , are influencing future planning . The recent US election and proposed tariff program will have an impact on trade and may affect import volumes , creating uncertainty for operators .
Although the unpredictability of global events makes it challenging for port and terminal operators to secure volume commitments , these types of situations often lead to the most innovative solutions .

There is nothing more important than strong collaboration between ports , terminal operators and ocean carriers . As ships increase in size and are accommodating higher volumes of containers than ever before , it ’ s critical that those entities successfully work together to plan , design and build facilities that anticipate growth and provide for efficient terminal flow that allows for easy access in and out .
