We loan our useful equipment for free

As we close out 2025, I have some messages that I need to impart. Thanks to all of you who phoned me when last month’ s issue was published with a very misleading headline that said you

VEDDER could“ rent” an item from Sunshine when needed. First of all, please know those words were not mine. They were inserted by the Villager publishing staff( Editor’ s note: We regret the error).

Sunshine Service has existed for over 27 years and our goal has been, and always will be, to facilitate our local residents with medical equipment at zero cost! It is strictly a loan agreement to you, with the understanding that it’ s free for your use and will need to be returned. I am so sorry that this happened and confused so many of you. Our 15 volunteers are the same old, loveable people we always have been!

I’ m super happy to report that we are fairly well stocked with a big variety of items. We recently rearranged our room to have everything within view which hopefully makes it easier for you to select. Remember, there are things in there that even we didn’ t know we had! Things like“ transfer boards”,“ gait belts” and“ toilet rails.” We’ ve got bed rails, toilet risers, walkers( both types), shower seats, ramps for wheel chairs, pillow wedges, etc. etc. Just ask and we’ ll do our best to provide it. We always appreciate a small monetary donation as a thank you for our service.

know.

Kathy Rohe and her husband, Bob, retired to Charbonneau in 2003 after spending their teaching careers working for the Department of Defense Overseas Schools in Germany, Libya, Labrador and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

They were glad they chose to settle in Charbonneau because of its location, the friendliness of the residents, the attractiveness of the community and, of course, tennis activity!

Kathy has been a member of the Sunshine Committee for several years. She enjoys being able to meet, talk with, and assist local residents when they need any sort of medical equipment we can provide for them at a time when they may be feeling somewhat vulnerable.

Solo Sisters has completed another year of fun activities, outings and making new friendships and we are looking forward to the new year filled with the same. If you are a single woman living in Charbonneau and are interested in meeting other single women and participating in the fun please contact us. We meet once a month and each gathering is different. Please contact Deanna Morgan at deannamorgan @ gmail. com for more information. If you are interested in attending a gathering before you decide to join there is no charge for the first time.

We held our annual holiday party in early December and I’ m writing before the event was held as the deadline for this paper was before it occurred. However, if the past holiday parties are an indication, I’ ll say everyone had a great time enjoying each other’ s company as
