This time the victim is a religious leader, and that leads to lots of symbolism and guilt. This is writer / director Rian Johnson ' s best effort yet... See it!- on Netflix...
2) Jay Kelly- George Clooney and Adam Sandler share the screen in this exploration of the price of fame- how can you constantly portray other people and still be yourself? Clooney has never been better in a role that proves success is rarely free, and Sandler shows he ' s so much more than the goofball he has so often been... See it!- on Netflix...
3) Pluribus- Creator Vince Gillgan( Breaking Bad) again tries to wax poetic in this critical favorite; but let me outline this show ' s theme: episode by episode, the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness. That may be okay for you, but I say... Avoid it!- on Apple TV...
4) Ella McKay- You may have seen write-ups that decry this flick as " awful " or " worst of the year," but I liked it. If nothing else, it ' s fast and furious, with lots of comedy and warmth. Moms, especially those who have just lived through the holidays, will love it. And I will note that most of the critics who demeaned it are of a different generation than the audience it is aimed at. See it- in theatres..( I think it will become much more popular once it ' s available for streaming...)
