Happy New Year , SAAA family , friends , and members . What an honor to write this as your new President . I look forward to representing the San Antonio Apartment Association . I have been a volunteer and member of this Association for over 20 years and this role is truly the culmination of time spent committed to the multifamily housing industry .
Tradition is that each incoming President selects a theme for the year . This year , I have chosen “ Association Matters .” The definition of “ association ” is an organization of persons having a common interest , or to come or be together as partners , friends , or companions . This definition speaks personally to me for my path has certainly not rested solely on me . My family , work colleagues , and SAAA team through the years have encouraged , mentored and supported me in this work .
As your President , I feel strongly that vision and goals matter . Here is my list of focused attention :
· Cultivate emerging leaders . · Reinforce our industry expertise in the community . · Concentrate on activities that directly support our mission of educating , communicating , and advocating . · Activate two short term ( one-year ) special committees , focused on the office building and location ( presence ) and pivoting relationships with local universities to promote multifamily housing industry careers . · Renew our commitment to the SAAA Political Action Committee ( PAC ). Every donation matters regardless of the size of the pledge . 2025 is going to be a big year for San Antonio elections , and every member ’ s involvement matters !
In closing , I wish everyone health and prosperity in 2025 . My intent is to be a President for the members because your feedback , thoughts , and member perspective matter . Together we will “ Thrive ” in ’ 25 !
