New executive director signifies new chapter for senior living community |
The start of a new year is often synonymous with growth and renewal . For SpringRidge at Charbonneau , 2025 marks an exciting new chapter as the active retirement community welcomes Shannon Lang as its executive director . With 18 years of experience in the senior living industry , Shannon is uniquely equipped to lead SpringRidge into its next era while honoring the legacy of her predecessor , Garth Hallman , who retired at the close of 2024 .

the things that truly make SpringRidge special .”
Garth ’ s leadership of more than two decades has left a profound impact on SpringRidge , fostering a sense of genuine connection among residents , staff and families . Shannon is committed to continuing that legacy .
“ Garth has done a phenomenal job . Residents have lived here for decades , moving seamlessly from independent living to assisted living and memory care . It takes a certain talent to maintain such

high standards for as long as he has ,” she said .
Shannon ’ s journey into senior living began in La Jolla , Calif ., where she worked as a concierge , and her career has taken her to communities across Arizona and Oregon . She has held various roles – from activity director to general manager – before most recently serving as executive director at Northwest Place , SpringRidge ’ s sister community in Portland . Both communities are owned and operated by Solana Beach , Calif . - based Senior Resource Group ( SRG ), LLC ., an innovator in developing and operating award-winning senior living communities . Shannon has served with the company for over a decade .
As she steps into her new role , Shannon ’ s vision for 2025 includes building on SpringRidge traditions . Community outreach will be a key focus , including educating local families about the benefits of senior living , expanding volunteer opportunities and strengthening ties within Charbonneau and Wilsonville .
“ We want to connect with others in the greater community and bring people into SpringRidge through programming and events ,” Shannon explained . “ Our annual Alzheimer ’ s Walk in May is one example

of how we involve residents and families in meaningful ways . We also want to be a resource for adult children whose parents may live elsewhere , showing them the incredible lifestyle and support we offer .”
Plans include enhancements to elevate the resident experience throughout the community . The onsite restaurant , The Charbonneau Room , and its adjoining lounge and bar have recently been remodeled , creating inviting spaces for social interaction and dining . Future projects include refreshing common areas and enhancing assisted living spaces .
For Shannon , the most rewarding aspect of her role is the opportunity to serve seniors . “ It ’ s truly an honor to work with people who have lived through so many periods of history ,” she said . “ We get to be a part of their journey , and that ’ s something very few industries can offer .”
Residents and staff alike are excited about the future under Shannon ’ s leadership . With her commitment to connection , community outreach and a vision for continued excellence , 2025 promises to be a year of growth and opportunity for SpringRidge .
