PRESIDENT ’ S MESSAGE
Dear ASCE Members ,
Happy New Year ! January always feels like a fresh start — a time to leave behind the chaos of the holidays ( and the leftovers !) and dive into the possibilities of a new year . Whether you ’ ve made resolutions or are just taking things day by day , it ’ s a great opportunity to look ahead and think about what you want to accomplish in 2025 .
We have some exciting events coming up over the next couple of months including the infamous ski day on January 31 st at Loon Mountain ( sign up if you haven ’ t already , this event ALWAYS sells out !). Don ’ t forget that Engineer ’ s Week starts on February 16 th .
We ’ re excited to share that we ’ re working on becoming more active across various social media channels to better connect with our community and reach a wider audience . Our goal is to engage not only with our current members but also with those who may not be on our email distribution list or are not yet part of ASCE . By expanding our presence online , we hope to share updates , events , and resources in a way that ’ s accessible and easy to follow , as well as drive more civil engineers in our local communities towards membership . Stay tuned for more updates , and if you ’ re not already following us , now ’ s the perfect time to join the conversation .
In addition , early discussions are underway for developing a new Infrastructure Report Card for the state of New Hampshire — the first since 2017 . While we ’ re still in the initial stages , this is a significant step toward assessing and highlighting the condition of our state ’ s infrastructure . Creating a report card is a detailed process that requires input from many contributors , but we want our members to know that the wheels are turning . Stay tuned for updates as this effort takes shape , and we look forward to your support as we move forward .
Wishing everyone a happy and fruitful 2025 !
Michael Eno President , ASCE-NH
