R . Fred Lewis Florida High School Mock Trial Competition Volunteers Needed
The R . Fred Lewis Florida High School Mock Trial Competition is coming LIVE AND IN PERSON to the Palm Beach County Courthouse on Thursday , March 3 , 2022 . The Palm Beach County Bar Association would be honored to have you serve as a judge or moderator for this event !
This highly competitive program reaches hundreds of Florida high school students and focuses on helping young people understand the administration of justice and our jury system . Judges will serve as a part of a panel consisting of one presiding judge and two or more scoring judges . Moderators will monitor each courtroom and help calculate the competition scores . Each of the rounds of competition will last approximately three hours , inclusive of an in-person judges ' training ( the in-person judge ’ s training can be skipped if you have served as a judge before ). Volunteers are welcome to attend as few or as many rounds as their schedules permit .
