PURPOSE Statement :
Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful , healthy and confident using a fun , experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running .
Background : Girls on the Run Rhode Island began offering programming in 2012 and now serves more than 700 girls in all of Rhode Island and Bristol County , Massachusetts . As a young women ’ s empowerment program , our volunteer coaches guide the development of critical life skills with running to build confidence in our participants .
Brag Lines : Girls on the Run Rhode Island is now a National Youth Sports Strategy Champion , recognized by the U . S . Department of Health and Human Services .
