The Arts Society , Nerja has the pleasure to invite you to a ZOOM live on-line lecture on Tuesday , January 12 at 18.00 . The lecture by Mr Andrew Prince is on jewellery and fashion ; From Downton to Gatsby . Jewellery and Fashion 1890-1929 .
For the series Downton Abbey , Mr . Prince was commissioned to produce jewels for the main characters , and this inspired him to compose a lecture on the changing styles of the time portrayed . It was a period when the great fashion houses collaborated with the finest of jewellers .
The lecturer , Andrew Prince , has had a passion for jewellery since he was a small child . Apart from Downton Abbey , Mr . Prince has produced jewellery for many films and TV shows . He has also produced jewellry for celebrities like Michael Jackson , Shirley Bassey and others .

A very different topic will be covered at a ZOOM live on-line lecture on Tuesday , 24 January at 18.00 . The Rev . Daniel Munoz will speak on the topic “ Did the Spanish Inquisition have a bad press ? - exploring the art of halftruths in Renaissance Europe ”. Rev . Munoz will retell the story of the inquisition through art and will present new historical data .
narratives , he will reveal how political and religious propaganda spread through art in Renaissance Europe .
The Rev . Daniel Munoz is a lecturer in the History of Christianity at the Protestant Faculty of Theology in Madrid . He was born in Málaga , grew up in Nerja and studied in the UK and Spain . Rev . Munoz is ordained an Anglican Minister .

Geoff will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure to meet him . He was a fantastic husband to Maureen , his sons and grandchildren . Fond memories of him always laughing . Donations were received after Geoff ’ s passing which were kindly donated by Maureen to the interpreters at Nerja Health Centre and Vélez Málaga Hospital and to Nerja Solidaria for help to give local children a happy Christmas .
