What ’ s Happening From Heidi …
Hello 2021 !
Hopefully , you are all back at it and things are in full swing . First and foremost , however , I do hope that your holiday season was everything you wanted and more considering the times that we are in . I hope that it was filled with love , laughter , and good health . I , myself , took a week off to put myself into check while binge watching my favorite shows and movies , puzzles , ice fishing , and hanging out with my kids .
The Chamber is jumping right into 2021 without skipping a beat . The Annual Meeting is set for Thursday , January 21 , 2021 . If you haven ’ t seen the email invite , please let us know so we can resend it . It will look different , and I am not telling anyone that they have to come , but I sure hope that you do . If you don ’ t attend , that ’ s ok too . Starting at 5:00 p . m ., you can arrive to Country Reflections , Highway 27 N , in your finest apparel complete with a mask . There will be music , plenty of food and drink , and of course dancing . There is plenty of space to accommodate those that are in attendance . You are not going to want to miss this !
Sparta Quest Winter Fest begins with a snow shoe moonlit hike along the MWR Trails at Fort Mc Coy on January 28 . On Friday , opening ceremonies will commence at 4:00 p . m . on the Butterfest Grounds . There will be snow shoe lap races , food , drink , snowman building contests , snow painting , kickball games , and of course , a Fat Tire race . You can even swing on over to MWR and ride the hills over there . The fest is free to get in , but if you are wanting to participate in any of the events , there will be a cost . We are looking forward to seeing you out in the snow here in a few weeks ! Even if there isn ’ t any snow , we ’ ve got backup plans .
February ’ s Cabin Fever will definitely be different this year . We will be hosting many of the games throughout the month where you can stop by the Chamber office to play and collect your tickets . There will be an in-person event on Saturday , February , 20 at the American Legion , along with a virtual aspect . Space WILL BE limited for the inperson portion , so be sure to grab your tickets as soon as you can .
We will slow down in March and April only to gear up again for May with the Tunnel Opening and the first ever Bike Expo ! We are the bicycling capital of America , right ? Also new to May is MiMS . Music in Mueller Square and that will be on a Friday night in the Square with a smaller sized band performing . We are looking for food and drink vendors to have in the huts during this time , so if you are interested , be sure to let us know . The Full Moon bike rides return along with the Concert in the Park series .
As we move through the next few months , I encourage you to be open and understanding as we host different events on different platforms . Things will not always go the way that we want them to , but you better believe that we will work hard to make it work .
