into the last moto , Webb was able to secure a second-place finish , and not only earning his first overall win since his 2018 season , but also the first every EnduroCross win for the Sherco brand . He was able to share his success and celebrate with his wife and son who had made the trip to watch their favorite rider in action .
Haaker kept the lead despite making a few small mistakes along the way . In the second moto , however , he tried to make a pass on Cooper Abbott , but crashed and damaged his front brake lever , causing it to stick in . After a few more crashes from the active brake , Haaker was forced into the mechanic area for some emergency bike maintenance . Cody Webb pulled away from the pack and easily took a first-place finish . Going 3-1
“ Round 5 was exciting for Cody Webb ,” says Tod Hammock . “ Keep in mind , Cody was going to ride a two-stroke up until a few weeks before and decided to switch to the 300cc four-stroke . He was basically testing as he was racing ; his race days were test days . To watch them behind the scenes , man , they were going crazy ; they were very busy testing the bike and engine performance just trying to get it better . I think by Round 5 Cody had it figured out .
