With the purchase of the EnduroCross name / trademarks , website , and social media channels from Bonnier Corporation in 2019 , Tod Hammock and series creator Eric Peronnard joined forces to ensure that the series and its legacy continued . Tod Hammock , president and founder of Cycle City Promotions and the AMA National Kicker Arenacross Series promoter , has some experience with managing indoor events , having started Arenacross back in 1995 . He had been aware of the EnduroCross series over the years and had been impressed with the growth since its inception by Eric in 2004 . This was not an opportunity that could be passed up . Because the purchase happened so late in the year , the 2019 series was truncated to only three races , Arizona , Colorado , and Idaho .

Looking to boost the series back into full force , Tod and Eric set their sights on a full six-round series for the 2020 season . Scheduled to start in August , the series was spread out between various states on the west coast . But COVID had other plans in mind . Restrictions for
social gatherings changed almost daily , and the promoters were quickly faced with the challenge of finding and securing venues that could support spectators while keeping the safety of its attendees as the main goal . Although it would have been more cost-effective to allow the series to sit idle for 2020 , the promoters wanted to keep the momentum . “ We had a good solid TV contract with Fox Sports 1 ,” said Tod Hammock . “ We wanted to get back and show everybody that EnduroCross was very well alive and was going to maintain the sixrace schedule that we had set out earlier in the year .”
The starting date was postponed by two months to late October , and the venues were condensed ; the first four rounds were scheduled at the outdoor track of Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino , California , and the final two rounds to be held at the indoor track at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa , Idaho . Unfortunately , at the last minute , Idaho tightened their restrictions on events , returning to “ Stage 3 COVID Rules ,” and the venue had to be rescheduled to Glen Helen .
