LETTER

From the Editor

If you had told me even five years ago that I would be presented with the opportunity to own and operate my very own offroad motorcycle magazine , I would have laughed you out of the room .
The reason that ’ s entertaining is because dirt bikes were never part of my life until recently . The only exposure I had to motorcycles was riding with my parents on dad ’ s 1988 Harley Electra Glide . None of my friends growing up were into riding ( other than ATV ’ s ... not my style ). It wasn ’ t until I met my boyfriend , Eric , and he became more serious about his trials hobby , having ridden with the Ohio Valley BSA Owner ’ s Club since he was younger , that I learned what trials was . So we joined Trials Inc in 2015 .
I started bringing my camera to events because I felt like I wanted to do more than just stand and watch the sections . I quickly realized that most of the riders didn ’ t have a single photo of themselves riding . So I brought my camera more ... then became a club photographer ... then videographer ... social media manager , NATC Social Media Manager ... Next thing I knew , I was shadowing Shan Moore , one of the best photographers in the industry .
Everywhere I went , people were so nice and welcoming , regardless of what class they rode ( novice and pro alike , mechanics , promoters , other photographers ). I started learning more of the stories behind why people ride , and what makes offroad motorcycles one of the coolest industries .
Shan built a legacy showcasing these sports and these riders , and giving people like me a chance to contribute and grow my skills , and I will be forever grateful . Now , it ’ s my turn to carry on the legacy of On the Pegs and grant people the same opportunities that Shan gave me , and I can ’ t tell you how excited I am !! I hope you will join me on this journey .
