To many , it is already a reality , considering the huge investments in road , rail , water and air transport infrastructure , which currently gulp a tenth of the country ’ s annual budget . Parents are pulling their children from private schools into public schools , where kids enjoy better education in a more comfortable atmosphere and also get quality food while studying – all for free . Rwanda has done an enviable job in obliterating the genocide stigma and now attracts not only foreign investors but also tourists from across the globe . It is home to German automaker Volkswagen which plans to reach an annual production of 5,000 cars . The sports industry has not been left out in the post-genocide socioeconomic revolution . SPORTS TOURISM

The authorities have mapped out a 30-year plan to develop a Sports City in Kigali where modern facilities of international standards will be built in a 35 hectares space in the district of Remera , which is already home to the 30,000-seater Amahoro Stadium . The idea is to create a gigantic hub for all sporting activities in the city where children , youth and adults will have access to their games of choice . It will also attract international competitions and foreign visitors thanks to a four-star hotel and a mall currently under construction on the vast site .
