Yomi Sangodeyi , is Nigeria ’ s first Pro basketball Player who played for the New Jersey Nets of the NBA in the US before going on to play in Italy and other parts of Europe and eventually in the Southern Hemisphere in Brazil in what ’ s considered a storied career that started on the streets of Lagos . The Nigerian basketball legend , passed away on October 13 , 2020 from health complications eventually succumbing to complications from COVID-19 .
