Opens Shelby County Office

ohn R. Emhardt DDS, MSD
is a pediatric dentist who
specializes in the dental care for infants,
teens, young adults and special needs.
“Dr. John”, as many of his patients call
him, is now accepting patients at his new
Shelby County office: 1818 North Riley
Highway, Suite B (next to Blue River
Dental at State Road 9 and Interstate 74).
The new facility is designed and tailored
for children and families and features
friendly open spaces. Dr. John and his
team focus on preventive and restorative
chamberchatter
dental care along with community dental
education.
“I feel that families in the community
deserve high level pediatric dental care”,
said Emhardt. The county certainly
welcomes a specialist with his credentials.
Emhardt is a graduate of Indiana
University School of Dentistry and
earned his Master’s Degree in pediatric
dentistry at Riley Hospital for Children/
Indiana University. He is board certified
by the American Board of Pediatric
Dentistry.
While at Riley Hospital, he served
as chief pediatric dental resident
and he loves working with children
with developmental and intellectual
disabilities. Dr. John completed a
unique training program with the
Riley Child Development center
aimed at caring for patients with
neurodevelopmental disabilities such as
autism.
An Indiana native, Emhardt attended
Lawrence Central High School in
Indianapolis where he participated
in soccer, hockey and tennis. He is a
graduate of DePauw University where
he also played tennis. In
fact, he first discovered
his love for working with
children by teaching
tennis in high school
and college. When not
in the office, Dr. John
enjoys the outdoors and
spending time with his
family.
