JOHN A. FORBES
COLEBROOK – John A. Forbes, 82, died peacefully at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital on Thursday evening, Dec. 29, 2016, after a year-long battle with cancer and with his loving family by his side.
He was born in at home in Colebrook on Oct. 10, 1934, a son to the late Lyman and Helen( Cordwell) Forbes. John was a Colebrook Academy graduate in the Class of 1952, and he was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
He had various types of employment in different parts of the country in the 1960s. He was a licensed real estate broker in California for a number of years before returning to Colebrook to establish his own real estate firm that was in business for more than 20 years. John continued to operate a property management business at the time of his death.
John was active in numerous organizations in his community. He was proud to be a founding member of the Colebrook Kiwanis Club, and held several offices at the district and international levels. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 47, in Canaan, Vt., and also the North Country Board of Realtors and the New Hampshire Board of Realtors. He served on the Colebrook Planning Board for 18 years, with eight of those as chairman. He was also a member of the Board of Trustees for UCVH for six years.
He is survived by several children who he helped to raise and who were his“ proudest accomplishment”: Dana Tillinghast of Beecher Falls, Vt.; Lina Dasconio of Oregon; Roy‘ Buzz’ McKinnon, Jr. of Beecher Falls; Kevin McKinnon of Tennessee; Robert McKinnon of Colebrook and Patricia( McKinnon) Hinds of Colebrook; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John also leaves behind two sisters, Lillian( Forbes) Thibeault of Epsom, and Hazel( Forbes) Daley of Hopkinton; his closest friend whom he called his brother, Frederick“ Dusty” Dustin of Colebrook; his love and companion, whom he called his“ Angel and Rock,” Betty Hughes of Canaan, Vt., who John said“ shared so much with me in such a short time, including her beautiful family in which I have been honored to be included.”
He is preceded in death by a step-mother, Althea( Roby)

Forbes; a sister, Elaine( Forbes) Hanneman, and his beloved wife and soulmate Jeannie( Dasconia) Forbes.
Memorial calling hours will be held at the Jenkins and Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, from 2 to 5 p. m. A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring at the Reed Cemetery on Forbes Hill Road in East Colebrook, of which notice will be given.

HELEN K. RICE
BUSHNELL, FLA.– Helen K. Rice, 86, of Bushnell, Fla. and Lancaster, died peacefully on January 1, 2017 at Bayfront Health Hospital in Dade City, Fla., after a lengthy illness.
Helen was born on Dec. 4, 1930 in Stewartstown, the daughter of Howard and Arlene( Ripley) Kelsey. She was a resident of Groveton, most of her life and for the last 15 years has summered in Lancaster at Roger’ s Campground and wintered in Bushnell, Fla. with her husband Lee.
Before retiring, Helen worked on the packing line for 20 years at the Campbell Envelope Co. She enjoyed working on her crafts.
Helen is survived by her husband of 33 years Harry Lee Rice of Bushnell, Fla., and Lancaster; children Theodore Hamlin of Burgaw, N. C.; Janet and Chet Savage of Jefferson; James and Lynn Hamlin of Merrimack; Harry Lee Rice, Jr. and Debbie Weeks of Groveton; Harold and Janet Rice of Merrimack, and Carla and Arthur Gadwah of Groveton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother Timothy and Annette Kelsey of Caribou, Maine.
She was predeceased by her parents Howard Kelsey and Arlene( Ripley) Roby.
There will be no services at this time. A graveside service

Christopher Harding
CHRISTOPHER HARDING
PITTSBURG – Christopher Lewis Harding, 44, of Pittsburg, died peacefully at his home on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016 after a lengthy illness with his loving wife by his side.
Christopher was born in Colebrook at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital on May 10, 1972 son of the late David“ Big Cat” Shallow and Janice Curtis Harding.
Christopher loved to hunt; mud runs; fishing; snow machining and doing mechanical work.
He was a family man and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Lisa Barrows Harding of Pittsburg; four children Anthony Daisey, Jr. and fiancée Christa Guyotte; Michael Daisey and fiancée Jessica Fox; Justin Daisey and fiancée Ariana Espinola and Sapphire Barrows as well as nine grandchildren. Brothers David Harding of Stewartstown; Danny Harding of Campton, Shawn Harding and Tina of Stewartstown; Marc Hibbard and wife Maddie of Colebrook; Sheane Eldridge of Concord; sisters Diane Cass and fiancé Wes of Canaan, Maine; Debra Burton and Rick Bay of Saint Louis, Ms.; Cathrine Harding of Laconia; Lisa Beauparlant and husband Steven of East Hampton, Conn.; and Sheryl Harding of Alexandria, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, one brother Loren J. Harding one granddaughter Hennessy L. Daisey and one niece Ashly D. Reed.
A celebration of Christopher’ s life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 at the American Legion in Canaan, Vt., from 2-6 p. m. Faith Miller
FAITH MILLER
DALTON – On the morning of Dec. 31, 2016, the Angels appeared to bring home one of their own. Faith Miller passed away peacefully with family by her side at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
Faith was kindhearted and humorous. She was a strong woman with a positive attitude and never gave up when conquering illnesses in her lifetime.
She was born March 3, 1963, to the late Roland and Priscilla Chandler. Faith grew up in Antrim, later moved to Nashua, and then to Dalton for the last twelve years. She enjoyed knitting, family cookouts and gatherings, camping, fishing, and the North Country. She was so appreciative of her numerous adventures to Old Orchard Beach, a casino or two, Salem, Mass. for Halloween, and various other adventures.
She is survived by her sons, Richard and Joseph Miller( and his wife, Jennifer) and grandchildren, Noah, Makayla, Joseph, Jr., and Peyton; her roommate, Robin Mann. Her family includes Hope Mitchell, Shannon Hutchison and husband, Doug; Content Ostertag and husband, Darrell; and brother, Jeff Chandler and partner, Debbie Walsh, as well as many adored nieces and nephews.
Per Faith’ s wishes, there will not be any services. An informal graveside service will be held in Antrim at a later date in the spring and will be announced.

Larry Rancloes
LARRY RANCLOES
CLARKSVILLE – Larry C. Rancloes, 69, of Clarksville, died early Thursday morning, Jan. 5, 2017, at his home.
He was born in West Stewartstown on March 27, 1947, the eldest son to Frank and Glenna( Knapp) Rancloes. He attended the local schools and was a 1965 graduate of Colebrook Academy. Larry was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War in the 1st Infantry Division.
For many years, Larry worked in the woods as a logger, and on construction crews, where he loved to operate big machinery. He was an avid reader, but his greatest joy was to spend time with his kids and grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his four children, Wendy Sue Pinard of Manchester, Tanya Rancloes of Clarksville, Nathan Rancloes of Salisbury, and Corey Rancloes of Columbia; his parents, Frank and Glenna Rancloes of Stewartstown; three brothers, Frank‘ Bim’ Rancloes of Clarksville, Rene Rancloes of Stewartstown, David Rancloes and his wife Melanie of Stewartstown; three sisters, Connie Angevine of Stewartstown, Wanda Brown and husband Robert of Stewartstown, and Rita Hale and husband Bruce of Connecticut; eight grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Rancloes.
Calling hours will be on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, from 6-8 p. m. at the Jenkins and Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A graveside committal service with military honors at the Stewartstown Hollow Cemetery will occur in the spring of 2017, of which notice will be given.
