Maxine enjoyed game shows on TV, and she enjoyed crocheting. She was an avid cat lover.
She is survived by two brothers, Raymond Smith of Newbury, Vt., and Vance Smith of Walpole, and two sisters, Priscilla Barnes of Pittsburg and Marion Booska of Ludlow, Vt.
She is predeceased by her husband, Stanley Gokey in 1998, and by a son, Lee Smith in 2005.
There are no public calling hours. A graveside interment service will be in the spring of 2017 at the Pittsburg Hollow Cemetery of which notice will be given.

GERALD W. HOLMES
DALTON – Gerald W. Holmes, 74, of Whitefield Road, died Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 11, 2017, at Littleton Regional Hospital after a long illness. He was surrounded by his family.
Gerald was born in Berlin on Jan. 4, 1943 the son of John W. and Florence( Reid) Holmes. On July 16, 1977 he married Nancy
Gerald was a longtime resident of Dalton and worked many years for the Dalton Highway Department. His primary occupation was truck driver and was employed for a time with Ingerson Trucking in Lunenburg and Currier Trucking in Gorham. He also held other jobs including wood cutter, farmer, sawyer, and shoe shop laborer.
He served on the Dalton Fire Department from 1979-81. Gerald enjoyed fishing, truck driving, hunting and spending time with his family.
Surviving family members include his wife, Nancy Holmes of Dalton; two daughters, Vicki L. Potter of Littleton, Kristi L. Fales of Franklin; two brothers, Billy Holmes of Gorham, Stanley Holmes of Dover; a sister, Lee Ann Brooks of Milan; and six grandchildren, Shawna and Krista Potter, McKenna and Ady Evans, and Dylan and Clayton Kipp. He was predeceased by a son Keith W. Allen in 2002.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Cushman Cemetery, Dalton, at the convenience of the family.

MAUREEN V. HIPP
COLEBROOK – Maureen V. Hipp, 74, of Colebrook, passed away on Monday morning, Jan. 9, 2017, at the Coos County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown, after a period of declining health.
She was born in Winchendon, Mass., on May 27, 1942, a daughter to the late William and Florence( Richards) Morrison. She was raised in Winchendon and was a 1959 graduate of Murdock High School. At one time in the early 1960s, Maureen held the title of“ Miss Winchendon.” She also attained her liberal arts bachelor’ s degree from Franklin Pierce College.
For many years, she was a professional florist and the owner and operator of the Tudor Rose flower shop in Jaffrey. Maureen enjoyed horseback riding, reading, painting, traveling, and she was an enthusiastic supporter of the arts.
Maureen leaves behind three daughters, Lisa Gravel-Hebert and husband Dan of Colebrook, Brandelle Carr and her husband Clark of Leesburg, Va., and Tauna Calise and husband Ken Rodderick of Jaffrey; two brothers, Wayne Morrison and wife Carol of Canaan, and Rick Mor-
