The Arts Society Nerja has the pleasure to invite you to two fabulous live lectures at the Centro Cultural , C / Granada , Nerja , during the month . If you can ’ t be at the lectures , they will be zoomed to your living room . Guests welcome ; € 10 . Tuesday , January 11 , at 18.00 , there will be a lecture with a Christmas theme ; “ The Journey of the Magi : Origin , Myth and Reality ” This is the story of the three kings and the icnography behind the story from its Eastern and pagan roots to its current Christian interpretation . Pictoral representations of the Magi will also be discussed . The lecturer is Mr . Leslie Primo who has an MA from the University of London and is very much appreciated as a lecturer and tour guide .
Tuesday , January 25 , at 18.00 , there will be a lecture on Flamenco , from Folklore to Flamenco , the Music of Málaga ”. In Málaga and surrounding villages unique Flamenco music developed like the Málaguena and the Abandalo . At the lecture , the echos of the past will fill the air with instruments unique to Málaga like the lute or the banderillo or castanets . Sung , danced and played by the wonderful dance company of Antonio Guerra . The lecturer is Ms Helen Sisjling , Chair of the Arts Society Nerja , who is a great lover of Flamenco and has been a student of Antonio Guerra for more than 15 years .
