Who doesn ? t like some pumpkin pie on the holidays !!!! For this holiday , I will share a family recipe that my g-maw made over 40 years ago !
First , we will start with the crust :
This can be made with any can or pre-made crust ( pre-made graham cracker crust is recommended ). However , here is a nice crust recipe .
Ingredients
- Pie crust : - 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour - ¼ teaspoon salt - ? cup shortening - ½ teaspoon white vinegar - 2-3 Tablespoons milk ( Can be either 2 % or whole milk ) - ½ teaspoon pumpkin spice ( optional )
Other : - 1 teaspoon nutmeg
Pie filling :
- ( 1 ) 15 oz can of pumpkin filling - 3 eggs - 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour - 1 teaspoon cinnamon - Pinch of salt - 2 cups sugar - 4 cups milk - ½ teaspoon scant allspice - 1 teaspoon scant ginger
