Solo Sisters

By CANDY FERGUSON

Solo Sisters know how to party !

The holidays are here : let it snow , let it snow , let it snow . Or , as happened on Dec . 5 for the Solo Sisters Holiday Party : let it rain , let it rain , let it rain !
We still managed to have a great time , with new friends
FERGUSON who have become old friends , as we enjoyed our most popular event of the year . Once again we partied in the Fireplace Room in the Clubhouse . CCC did an awesome job decorating the room , making it festive yet understated with lots of little Christmas trees ablaze with white lights . As in years past , the members of the Solo Sisters Planning Committee provided centerpieces for the dinner tables . Our linens and napkins were black , so we also added red accents with plaid ribbons to tie up the dinnerware , and red poinsettias on the buffet .
Once again , Olive Garden catered our event .
We enjoyed pasta stations and lasagna , plus endless salad and breadsticks . Too bad the salad dressing wasn ’ t endless too , but you can ’ t have everything ! For dessert we ate tiramisu , a great way to end the meal !
Our always popular gift exchange lived up to its reputation of being a loud and raucous event ! Because of the size of our group , we only allow gifts to be stolen once , and there was a lot of stealing going on . Just ask Deanna , she was stolen from at least 4 times ! However , Georgia ended up with the wine purse she coveted and Cricket stole a sequined cap that looked great on her , so the stealing , at least for the winners , was fun .
Now it ’ s time to begin a New Year . I think we will begin it quietly , enjoying happy hour at a local restaurant . There , we will continue to pursue the friendships we have formed by attending Solo Sister events . Perhaps in the New Year we will take in a movie , play or concert with friends and get a cultural fix . Or maybe we ’ ll learn a new card game or enjoy a game of Pictionary or charades and embarrass ourselves in front of our fun-loving friends . However you choose to celebrate the New Year , make sure you are safe and have a good time . And if you ’ re a single woman living in Charbonneau , consider joining Solo Sisters . A new year of fun and friendship begins in January and we would love to have you join us . Please contact Deanna Morgan at deannamorgan @ gmail . com , and she will be happy to invite you to our next event .
