Tell us about your new series One Dollar and describe your character Danielle ‘Dannie’ Furlbee?

One Dollar takes place in a rust belt town right outside of Pittsburgh, PA struggling with an incredible class divide. You have the steel mill workers struggling to make ends meet while attempting to hold onto their town’s rich history. While at the opposite end of the spectrum you have an influx of mega wealth attempting to gentrify the area. When a shocking multiple murder occurs, a one dollar bill exchanged hands of the residents of the town revealing that everyone has a little dirt on their hands and maybe the two sides have more to do with each other than you think.

My character Danielle Furlbee is the daughter of Wilson Furlbee, a developer and the richest man in Braden, PA played by the amazing Greg German. She’s the high school valedictorian, champion tennis player and incoming student at Michigan. This girl seemingly has it all. But on the night of the murder when Dannie sees something she shouldn’t have, her curiosity fuels her to embark on a journey that could put her whole life at risk.

What makes One Dollar different from the rest of the mystery dramas?

Our director often explains our show like a game of tether ball. The pole is the murder mystery but the ball and string are a stream of sub-stories bringing awareness to issues happening right now in America. I think a lot of mystery shows are rooted in escapism. CBS All Access took a risk and created a show that is quite the opposite.
