MG: First of all thank you so much for being on JAMO. Tell us about your new EP “CXTY NIGHTS” and what inspired you guys to create this body of work? Xuitcasecity: Of course! Honest- ly, there were a lot of reasons we wanted to create this project. We haven’t put a project out in over a year and continuously put out singles. It felt as if we were los- ing track of the soul purpose in which we create music. Market- ing, branding and choosing the right singles is extremely im- portant but if you lose the pas- sion then there’s no substance. We also needed this body of work to have something cohe- sive we could tour on, and show the world the caliber of music we can create. MG: What makes “CXTY NIGHTS” different from your previous EP “INDXGO”? Xuitcasecity: INDXGO was a bit more electronic based. When we were first starting out we had blog support from more EDM based platforms and had to somewhat tailor our music to them. Once we got our foot in the door we had the opportunity to create the exact style of music we always wanted. We have such a broad range of music we enjoy that honing in on just one sound is difficult, so we tend to fuse a few genres into one. MG: How would you describe your experience while working on the “CXTY NIGHTS”? Xuitcasecity: Rollercoaster! There’s always going to be a lot of ups and downs when work- ing on a project so we were pre- pared but in the end it was all worth it. We changed the release date numerous times, changed the final track list a few times, thought about having a feature on the project...in the end we just wanted to showcase our tal- ent and show the world that we don’t need a major feature or the most poppin’ producer to create timeless music. MG: What excites you guys the most about creating music? Xuitcasecity: Experience. It was always somewhat nerve-wrack- ing in the beginning stages of working with other producers or songwriters thinking you had something to prove. We’ve come to the point where we know what we’re capable of doing in the studio and we trust that and ourselves - ISSUE 49 - 2019 January
