The name’s Jairo Eli de León, I was born and raised in the greatest
city in the world, Austin TX, and I’m currently majoring in Art
& Media Design at Gallaudet University! I’m known as a digital
illustrator on campus and love reading Dwell magazine while I
enjoy my Sunday mornings coffee. I am a graphic designer and
my medium is the computer. Being a graphic designer allows me
to explore who I am as an artist. My style in graphic design work is
made with both traditional and scanned and edited in software.
I design logos on iPad and scan them in to perfect them digitally.
For example, I create work using a basic creative process, and then
I begin with brainstorming and initial sketching. While creating, I
almost always reference other artists’ work and when I discover my
work by an artist I discover their techniques. For identity design,
my current inspiration is Glenn Jones’ illustrations and the humor
he puts in his illustrators.
