Right now the state of California is in a drought. The drought started in 2012. Many people think the cause is climate change and that's at least part of the cause. Climate change causes extreme changes in weather like droughts or floods and makes the waters and atmosphere hotter, so the earth also heats up. As a result of this all of the water is evaporating, so now there is even less rain. Right now the state of California is working hard to save water.

The people of California are getting smarter about how they use their water. They’re proving this by having fake grass on their lawns instead of wasting water on keeping real grass green. People are cutting down on how often they wash their clothes and they also wear something more than once. They also have certain days they can water their yard or gardens. They are taking showers instead of a bath. Most baths use 35- 50 gallons of water versus a ten minute shower with a low flow showerhead which uses about 25 gallons.

Governor Brown is proposing to fine people up to $10,000 per day if they waste water on pools or landscaping as California cities attempt to reach mandatory conservation. He also has ordered water use to be cut 25% statewide. On January 17, 2014 Governor Brown proclaimed a state of emergency. He has also directed state officials to take all necessary actions to make water immediately available.

According to CNN, companies are using desalination, which converts saltwater to freshwater. In San Diego and Santa Barbara there are desalination plants that will take 99.9% of the salt out of salt water. However, this modified water cost about twice as much as normal water. It also costs money to build new desalination plants.

Working together, citizens, the government, and companies are all trying to cut back on their water use and conserve it, which may have a positive effect on climate change.

California Drought

We follow the life of 16 year old Naruto Uzumaki as he faces trouble on a mission to drive back the Akatsuki, a criminal organization whose members were killed and then reanimated. When Naruto and his team return to their village, his friends are praised by their families and Naruto starts feeling lonely because his parents were killed when he was born. He and one of his friends, Sakura Haruno, are then ambushed in the park by Madara, one of the Akatsuki members. They are sent to an alternate reality based on their inner thoughts. In the alternate world Naruto’s name was changed to Menma and Sakura no longer has her parents. With their friends acting the opposite of their usual selves and a flirty Sasuke who never left the village, Naruto and Sakura need to find a way back home and the only way for that to happen is to get the red moon scroll, a powerful scroll which can end the fake world.

This movie is full of action packed battles and emotion, like when Naruto’s mother injures herself to save him. The movie, like the TV episodes, show the hardships Naruto had been through from being an orphan since birth, being hated by everyone, having his brother figure Sasuke leave, to being told the thing the killed his parents was sealed inside him, the nine tailed beast. The characters might seem perfect but in reality they aren’t. It isn’t as fast paced as it seems but at the same time it’s not at a slow pace. The animation is great, the movements aren’t rushed.
