On the other hand, hPTX4 has 30.5% homology with hCRP, while hPTX3 has only 28.5% homology. In addition to conservation within the human evolution, CRP is known to be conserved across many species. Atlantic Horseshoe Crab has the most evolutionarily conserved CRP, while Rabbit CRP has the highest amino acid homology with hCRP as shown in figure 2. Furthermore, Rabbit has 75.7% amino acid similarity with hCRP, while Guinea Pig has 73.7%, Rat has 67.2%, African Clawed Frog has 44.7% and the African Horseshoe Crab has 29.1%.
