And thirdly , our achievements in Student Success will depend on the continuing excellence and expertise of our staff . We have a strong reputation for excellence in interdisciplinary and professional study which provides a firm foundation for truly innovative programme design . The Global Challenges Pathway initiative is one example of how we can build something distinctive , yet grounded in , and true to , Keele ’ s values and staff expertise . Keele ’ s range of exciting provision - from on-line to degree apprenticeships - demonstrates the scale of our ambitions to innovate and grow ; however , the successful development of our portfolio in its diverse forms depends on the vision and the leadership of key staff . We will be working to strengthen our internal networks of those holding significant roles , such as programme leaders , academic mentors , and those who contribute to innovation within the institution . We will also build on the expertise of those holding Fellowships ( National Teaching Fellows , Fellows ( and Senior and Principal ) of the HEA ), to increase our Education and Scholarship activity and further our reputation and visibility externally .
The legacy of the pandemic has , of course , brought new challenges to our university , as it has to wider society , including economic challenges and the deepening of social , health and educational inequalities . The agenda for Education will - for many years - be to repair the impact of disadvantage on the educational chances of our population . With those challenges as the backdrop to our work , I look forward to working with you to continue our record of transforming lives through education .
