ROAR has become a fan-favorite tradition since it began during the Jaguars ’ inaugural season .
“ We have our first legacy ROAR participant this year . Her mom cheered , and now her daughter is carrying on the tradition ,” said Christy Stechman Zynda , associate director of cheerleading , promotions and programs . “ Here in our 22nd season of Jaguars football , it ’ s inspiring to watch fans pass along their passion for the team to the next generation .”
Beyond the Junior ROAR program , the Jaguars run a variety of events and programs designed to introduce the team to kids around Northeast Florida . Each spring , kids are invited to the Junior Jags Combine where they can test their football skills just like the professionals . They measure their speed running the 40-yard dash , assess their agility with the shuttle run and test their throwing arm with a passing drill .
Season ticket members are welcomed to exclusive events throughout the year , including our most recent Tour & Treat , presented by Florida Prepaid College Board . Kids and their families visited EverBank Field in costume to collect candy and treats while on a behind-the-scenes locker room tour . Kids are also invited to participate in the annual Helmet Hike , where they get the opportunity to walk alongside one Jaguar player on the way to the practice fields during Training Camp .
Even the littlest Jaguars get the chance to show their pride through the Cub Club , a partnership with Baptist Health , which connects young families with children from newborn to 3-years-old . A free membership is offered to moms who welcome a baby at a Baptist Health hospital in Jacksonville . Membership includes a Jaguars onesie or t-shirt , an official fan birth certificate and a quarterly newsletter with health and safety tips from Wolfson Children ’ s Hospital experts .
